3 Lessons To Building a High-Performing 60 Person Team

🧠 The Consumer Brand Blueprint – Ridge’s Playbook for Scaling Remote Teams

Last week I chatted with Adam Romatowski, Director of Remote at Ridge, a brand that’s built one of the cleanest async team cultures I’ve seen.

We covered everything from onboarding and internal standups to AI-driven hiring workflows. If you’re hiring globally, trying to build a low-drama team, or just want to operationalize better, here are 3 easy tips.

Using Forms To Build Async Communication

Ridge built an internal forms system that powers everything from bug reporting to inventory transfers to ordering on Shopify.

It eliminates the awkward “Who do I ask?” moments and auto-routes requests straight into Slack and task trackers.

Especially useful for global teams where timezone overlap is minimal.

💡 Smart touch: It’s easier to fill out a form than wonder if you’re bothering someone. And by the time a conversation starts, the info’s already well documented.

Standups are 5x a week. Yes, really.

Every day, the entire 60+ person team joins a one-hour companywide standup. 🤯

It replaces random cross-functional meetings, centralized all comms, and made “I didn’t know” a non-option. Each day has a theme (marketing, GTM, product, etc.) and gets recorded for those OOO.

🔍 Why it works: Everyone knows what everyone else is doing. The company learns together. No silos.

3. AI-powered screening that doesn’t suck

Ridge built its own ATS and layered in AI to evaluate every resume. The model reads the JD, applies a resume rubric, and ranks candidates 1–5 with written rationale. Human recruiters only review 3s and above, which speeds up the process without removing judgment from the loop.

Outcome: Candidates hear back within days. Time is spent talking to great fits, not reading 200 PDFs.

Candidate Spotlight

My team ranks every interview from 1 to 4.

1 = never talk to again
4 = send this candidate to every brand owner you meet.

Each email we include a candidate who scored a 4 from last week. Meet Mohamed.
